Glenn R. Bratton

Glenn Bratton, Founder and President

Glenn R. Bratton was born in Gaston County and currently lives in his hometown of Dallas. Glenn Bratton attended County Schools. After graduating from North Gaston High School in 1978, Glenn was awarded a basketball scholarship at Barber-Scotia college. Two years later, Glenn transferred to Winston-Salem State University, graduating in 1983  with a degree in Sociology.

In 1984, Glenn was hired by the Gaston County Police Department. working as a patrol officer for two years and then as a D.A.R.E. Officer in Gaston County Schools, a vice-detective in the SIU, an SRO at Ashbrook High school and finally, in 2000 he was promoted to Sergeant. After 30 years with the Gaston County Police Department, Glenn retired in January 2013.

 

Glenn has been and continues to be active in his church, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church,  as former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Pastor’s Search Committee and a Scholarship Committee Member. He currently serves as the Head Usher for the Joint Ushers Board.

 

Glenn currently serves the Town of Dallas as a member of the Dallas Planning Board.  He is a former state president of North State Law Enforcement Officers Association. He is the first State-Elected president to serve two (4 year) terms and the first person to be re-elected to the office of State President.

 

Glenn is married to Dorene Bratton and they have five daughters and 16 grandchildren.  Glenn enjoys woodworking, assisting the elderly and youth, sports, watching westerns, riding his motorcycle and traveling.

Glenn strongly believes that a spiritual and disciplined lifestyle leads to success and happiness.
