Sergeant Davarus Southern

 Davarus Southern is a sergeant with the City of Gastonia Police Department, of which he has served 17 years.  He has an MBA from Pfeiffer University a BA in Sociology from NC State University. A dedicated husband to Lebarbara Southern, Davarus is the father of two sons, Jaylen, 16 and Kendall, 12 and two daughters, Aubriann, 8 and Alayna, 3. 

 

When he is not serving his family, Davarus is serving my community as an assistant football coach with Gaston County Schools at Ashbrook High School and as the head basketball coach for Gaston Day Middle School and Team Loaded North Carolina 2026.  He is a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and he is also a mentor with Gaston County Schools.
